University Band Update: 9/1 - 9/5

UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL: WEST ORANGE VS. UNIVERSITY (FRI 9/5)

Students should have their “Enigma” band shirt and lightweight shorts along with black socks and their band shoes on Friday. Paid band shoes will be distributed to students at Tuesday evening’s rehearsal. Please see a uniform parent at Tuesday’s rehearsal to fit for shoes if you have not done so.

Students will also be allowed to purchase food during the 3^rd quarter this year. Students will only be allowed to purchase water/sprite and hamburgers/hot dogs without condiments. Chips, candy, and condiments have potential to stain uniforms. STUDENTS SHOULD STILL EAT DINNER BEFORE COMING TO BAND. DO NOT RELY ON DINNER DURING THE 3RD QUARTER!

CHEESECAKE SALES DUE ON THURSDAY
Cheesecake sales have been extended to Thursday, September 4^th. No late orders will be taken. Students can earn 40% of all sales to pay of band assessments!

REHEARSE-A-THON NEXT SATURDAY – 9/13 (12pm-6pm)
The band will be having it’s only Saturday rehearsal of the year next Saturday (September 13) from 12pm-6pm. This date has been on the UHS Band Calendar since last April. This is a mandatory rehearsal as the band will be learning key parts of the show on that day. Please eat lunch before coming. As in band camp, please dress according to the Florida afternoon weather and bring water and snacks. There will not be a longer lunch/dinner break.

BUY BAND SPIRIT ITEMS AT ALL HOME FOOTBALL GAMES
You can purchase band shirts, polos, hats, hoodies, and other spirit items right outside the band room before every football game! We will shortly have an order form where you can order from the band website as well. Stay posted!

Thanks so much for the parents that volunteered with us last week at the Jones game. We love seeing new faces and appreciate any time that you may have. We can’t succeed without the help from parents and other volunteers. For those parents that have volunteered with us before, we thank you for your patience this year. Like last year, we are limited to only 40 total volunteers at home games. This includes EVERYONE from concessions to chaperones. Because of this limit, we may have to restructure our volunteer opportunities. We appreciate your flexibility as we tweak our system of volunteering at home games for a few weeks. Thank you so much for your investment in your child’s music education!
