University Band Update: 11/10 - 11/14

KUDOS FOR A GREAT PERFORMANCE @ THE GRENADIER INVITATIONAL
Congratulations on a fantastic performance at Colonial High School on Saturday. The Cougar Band & Guard earned a score of 85.65 as well as earning numerous Superior with Distinction Awards. The band took 4th Place Overall (out of 19 bands) as well as 4th Place in Class 4A. What a great way to end the competitive marching band season! Congratulations for a fantastic season – what a great display of hard work and character this year!

UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL VS. FREEDOM

ALL-COUNTY AUDITIONS ON MONDAY
Good luck to those students trying out for the OCPS All-County Honor Band on Monday, Nov 10 at Apopka High School (NOT the 9th grade center). Plan on at least 45 min for the drive (more if you will be driving during the rush hour) and arrive at least 40 min prior to your audition time so you can register, find your audition room, and warm-up. While this is a blind audition, please dress well as you are still representing the University High School Band.

DIRECTIONS TO APOPKA HS: Take the 408 W to the 429 North. Continue on 429 all the way to US 441 (OBT) and turn right at the light. Go to your very next light (Bradshaw Rd.) and make a left. Go to the stop sign and make a left onto Old Dixie Hwy. Follow past the elementary school and make a right at the light which is Vick Rd. Take Vick Rd. to the school on your right. You will make a right on Martin St. and may park anywhere you can find a spot.

MARCHING BAND REHEARSAL THIS WEEK
There will be no marching band rehearsal on Tuesday. We will have our final marching band rehearsal on Thursday. We will professionally record the music from “The Enigma” and conclude the marching season with a mini “Awards Night” from 7:15pm - 8:15pm. Parents and friends are welcome to attend!
