University Band Update: 2/10 - 2/14

GOOD LUCK TO THE WINTERGUARD AND INDOOR PERCUSSION
University “A” Guard will be performing at 3:15pm and the University “Open” Guard will be performing at 7:45pm this Saturday, February 14th at Colonial High School. UPS (University Percussion Syndicate) will be performing at Seminole High School at 8:02pm this Saturday. You can go to www.ffcc.org to view the schedule and get direction to both competitions. GO COUGARS!

KUDOS TO ALL THAT PARTICIPATED IN DISTRICT SOLO & ENSEMBLE
Congratulations to everyone that participated in Solo & Ensemble this past weekend. 100% of all that participated received a Superior or Excellent Rating. Of these, 78% that participated received a Superior rating. University High School took home 48 Superior medals this weekend. For those that are continuing at the State Solo and Ensemble level, we are looking at scheduling the event on April 6, 2009 in Naples, FL. Students interested will have to pay the entry fee and transportation costs. More information to come!

PRE-MPA @ COLONIAL HIGH SCHOOL (TUES, FEB 17)
The Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Freshman Band will perform at Colonial High School on Tuesday, February 17th. We will order Chik-Fil-A Sandwiches ($3) for after school and will transport to Colonial at 5:30pm. The concert should begin at 6:15pm and we should be back at UHS between 8:30pm-9:00pm

MIDDLE SCHOOL JAZZ MPA @ UNIVERSITY
District 8 Middle School Jazz MPA will be hosted here at University on Thursday, February 19. We may need some volunteer help at concessions and to work as guides. A second e-mail will go out late Tuesday or Wednesday in regards to help. Please come out and either (1) volunteer with UHS or (2) watch and support the great middle school bands of Orange County.

DISTRICT MPA WILL BE SATURDAY, MARCH 7
Please put Saturday, March 7th on your calendar for the District 8 Concert Band MPA at Ocoee High School. We will leave UHS at approximately 7:30am and return at approximately 4:00pm. More information to come!
Freshman Band Performance: 9:00am
Symphonic Band Performance: 11:30am
Wind Ensemble Performance: 2:10pm
